Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Got a question about our plumbing or heating services? We answer the most common ones below. Still not sure? Call us at 587-777-3164 — we are available 24/7.
Do you really respond 24/7, including weekends and holidays?
Yes — always. When you call ER Plumbing & Heating, a real technician answers. No call centre, no answering machine. We dispatch within the hour for emergencies, any time of day or night, 365 days a year including Christmas and statutory holidays.
Are your technicians licensed and insured?
Absolutely. All ER Plumbing & Heating technicians hold valid Alberta trade certifications. We carry full liability insurance and WorkSafe coverage. We are happy to provide documentation upon request before any work begins.
Do you charge extra for emergency or after-hours calls?
We are transparent about our pricing before any work starts. We do not surprise you with hidden fees. Emergency call-out rates are disclosed upfront when you call, and we give you a written quote before we begin any repair.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Calgary and surrounding communities including Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, and Okotoks. Not sure if we cover your area? Give us a call at 587-777-3164 and we will confirm.
My furnace stopped working — what should I do while waiting?
First, check your thermostat batteries and make sure the filter is not completely clogged. Check that the circuit breaker for the furnace is not tripped. If the pilot light is out and you are comfortable relighting it per the manual, you can try that. If none of those resolve it, call us at 587-777-3164 right away — especially in winter. We will get someone to you fast.
How long does a hot water tank replacement take?
Most standard hot water tank replacements take 2–3 hours from arrival to full hot water restored. Tankless unit installations typically take 3–5 hours. We bring common tank sizes on the truck so we can often complete the job the same day you call.
Do you offer any warranty on repairs?
Yes. We stand behind our work with a labour warranty on every job. Parts carry the manufacturer warranty in addition. Ask your technician for the specific terms when they quote the job — we are committed to making it right if anything does not meet your expectations.
